When user selects a session printer to be their default printer, it does not show up as the default printer in subsequent sessions. However, if a printer is mapped within a session and set as default, it does appear as default printer in subsequent sessions.

Printing has always been an issue with XenApp or RDS and still is. Therefore Thomas Koetzing has written ”ten printing rules with Citrix XenApp” on his blog.
The best way to solve printer related issues on a Citrix XenApp environment is simply to prevent them.
